Greetings! Thanks for coming to my part of the Website! My name is Jake Byron, and I’m a proud member of Tony, Jake, & Jenn on Bull Mornings.
Let me tell you about myself and my history here. In 2004, I graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology, and I moved to Portland with the hopes of working for a radio station. A couple months later, I managed to get on the Street Team, and spent a couple glorious summers hanging banners and handing out free T-shirts. During that time, I found myself getting close to the legendary Lee Rogers, who asked management to give me a shot with the morning show. When Susan Barr retired, I took her spot, and I’ve been in this chair ever since.
In my time here at this station, I’ve met thousands and thousands of listeners, and listened to piles and piles of country music, and I wake up every day thankful that I have my dream job. I don’t want to do anything else for the rest of my life. I want to do it in this town, with you as a listener. I take the responsibility of helping you wake up in the morning very seriously, and I hope we spend the rest of our lives doing that together.
This job also comes with a lot of perks, namely, a chance to do good in my community. I’ve been very privileged to work with some wonderful organizations in this town, most notably St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Home With Heroes. St. Jude is an internationally acclaimed organization that I’m so proud to be associated with, and Home With Heroes is a Clark Co.-based charity dedicated to honoring veterans and getting them into the outdoors of this magical place we call home. I’ve discovered a real passion for helping veterans feel appreciated, and I’m constantly looking for opportunities to help them more!
