10 Best Moments From the “ACM Presents: Our Country” Special

Twenty of country music’s biggest stars joined host Gayle King Sunday night for ACM Presents: Our Country, a two-hour special of live performances from the stars respective homes. The special was a substitute for the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards originally scheduled for the same night, but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. “There’s a lot of uncertainty about how long this will last, but one thing we do know is the healing power of music, and nobody — I mean nobody — is better at nursing that power than country music artists,” King said.

Here are 10 highlights from the show, according to Billboard:

    1. Lady Antebellum’s children assist on “What I’m Leaving For.” As the trio performed their song dedicated to doctors, nurses and first responders, they were joined by their children as they sang.

    7. Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban showcases his ace musicianship. Urban, who was supposed to host the ceremony, said he misses “being around people” and being around live music, before he sang a killer version of “Wasted Time.”
    8. Miranda Lambert eases nerves with the sound of a natural spring. The country superstar sang her latest single “Bluebird,” from the front porch of her Tennessee farm. “Thank goodness for technology that we could still connect. Lean into your music and let that heal you because music is medicine,” she said.
    9. Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker’s friendship shines. The duo paired up for two songs Sunday, once for the for the feel-good “Mud On the Tires,” and the second a tribute to the late Kenny Rogers, where they sang “Lucille” and “The Gambler.”
