After A Record-Setting 19 Weeks At #1, “Old Town Road” Is Dethroned

After spending a record-setting 19 consecutive weeks atop Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” has been dethroned by Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” As Forbesnotes, Eilish’s oddly alluring song patiently waited at #2 on the Hot 100 for a record-tying nine weeks before finally eclipsing “Old Town Road.”

Both singles maintained their steam with the help of remixes; Eilish recently got Justin Bieber to guest on a version of her tune, while Lil Nas X enlisted Billy Ray Cyrus and a genre-hopping slew of others to freshen up his track at various points during its reign.
