I admit I’m not the most ardent sports fan.  I care about the Winterhawks, I care about the Blazers, and to a lesser extent, I care about the Timbers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (because of Tom Brady).   I care about Oregon & Oregon State only inasmuch as they are relevant to my community, and vocationally, I’m required to care about those things.  But for the most part, I’m not too shy about admitting that I’m quite a sheep when it comes to sports.  I’m perfectly fine with going along with whatever the prevailing trend is until I have time/inclination to form my own opinions.

So that being said…  are we mad at Mario Cristobal?

I can’t quite get a handle on it.  I’ve seen people upset that he’s leaving behind the players that he recruited to whatever fate may hold at the University of Oregon.  K…  fair.  I’ve seen people say that we have no right to his life, and he should make the decisions that are correct for him.  K…  also fair.

Is this just another in long line of people who have used our fair state as a stepping stone to better things?  Believe me, I know a thing or two about that.  I’ve worked with plenty of people who were only interested in biding their time and padding their resume before moving on to the job they really wanted.  I get it that the small-town/big-city feel that Oregon claims is useful for that purpose.  If that’s his deal…  are we OK with that?

Basically, I don’t care.  I just want to know which way the wind is blowing so I can…  I guess make jokes about it?  I don’t really even know what my motivation is for finding this out.  Are we mad at the dude?  Compassionate?  Betrayed?  Apathetic?  I swear…  just somebody tell me.
