Monday was National Doctors Day, which seems especially poignant given how healthcare workers are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Now Brad Paisley has kicked off a new initiative called “Gratitunes” with a performance of his song “Southern Comfort Zone” to show appreciation for the doctors and nurses weathering this crisis.

Billboard reports that Gratitunes is “a consumer-generated music platform to celebrate and thank members of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center family through the power of music during the COVID-19 pandemic.” Over the next month, artists like Lauren Alaina, Sara Evans, Amy Grant, Dustin Lynch, Jewel, Lindsay Ell, Shane McAnally, and Walker Hayes will each post a “Gratitune” on their Instagram.

Gratitunes playlists will be made available to all VUMC COVID-19 assessment sites and treatment centers, including the hospital itself, to lessen stress and lift spirits. Donations will also be accepted on the Gratitunes website to help with medical supplies and child care for VUMC’s medical staff.
