Brad Paisley’s Free Nashville Grocery Store Is “Thrown Into the Fire” Amid Shutdown
The free grocery store Brad and Kimberly Williams-Paisley opened last month in Nashville to serve the needy got off the ground in the nick of time thanks to the coronavirus crisis. On Monday, Paisley talked to TODAY about getting the store (called The Store) up and running a month ahead of schedule to deal with the pandemic’s economic fallout. “We’re already serving three times the amount of people we expected to right away. We thought we would soft-roll this thing out, like a slow build to what we would become, and all of the sudden we’re kind of thrown into the fire with it,” says Paisley. “It’s really going well so far—knock on wood—I think.”
