Chris Stapleton’s New LP to Include Track Called “Watch You Burn” About 2017 Las Vegas Shooting

Last month, Chris Stapleton announced that his next album, Starting Over, will drop on November 13 and released the project’s title track.

Now the Nashville superstar has also revealed that the LP will contain another song called “Watch You Burn” about the deadly mass shooting at Las Vegas’ Route 91 Harvest Festival in 2017. “It’s a powerful number to me that conveys the sentiment, ‘Hey, let’s cut the evil s**t out,'” Stapleton told CBS This Morning this week. “It’s a plea in some ways.”

It also contains lyrics like, “Only a coward would pick up a gun / And shoot up a crowd trying to have fun.” The blog Whiskey Riff also notes that a snippet of “Watch You Burn” can be heard in the album teaser Stapleton dropped back on August 24.
