On Wednesday (April 1), Dolly Parton posted on social media that she made a million dollar donation towards research for the novel coronavirus, according to Taste of Country. “My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt [University Medical Center] for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure,” Parton writes. “I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations.” “Keep the faith,” she signed off.

Earlier in the week, Parton recorded a video thanking first responders and others on the front lines of the pandemic. “We appreciate you more than you can imagine,” she said.

If you’re missing the songstress, A&E Network will air Biography: Dolly on Sunday, April 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
