This morning (12/16) at 9:30, the Board of Commissioners for Multnomah Co. are considering a plan to phase out gas-powered leaf blowers.  The reasons they cite are mostly environmental, but also not that the fumes they emit endanger the users.

According to a report by the USEA, one hour of use can emit the same amount of pollution as a Toyota Camry driving to San Diego.

Presumably, electric options will be pursued as replacements by the public workers who use them.
