Happy 90th Birthday to the Red Headed Stranger Willie Nelson
It was a star-studded event this past weekend at the Iconic Hollywood Bowl to celebrate The 90th Birthday Of The Music Superstar. The event itself is a two-day concert with a plethora of talent invading the famous Bowl itself to celebrate the man himself. The list of friends was long, which include Keith Richards of the rolling stone who sang two songs with Willie: Waylon Jennings’ “We Had It All” and Billy Joe Shaver’s “Live Forever.”
Jack Johnson sang “Willie Got Me Stoned and Took All My Money” while smoke plumes were projected at the Bowl bandshell. Other attendees included Woody Harrelson, Emmylou Harris, Willie’s sons, Lukas and Micah, Kris Kristofferson, Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, Lyle Lovett and more
Marijuana was a common theme all night. Dave Matthews, who recalled meeting Willie Nelson 30 years ago at Farm Aid, shared the story of his first smoking session with Nelson. “When I thought it couldn’t go on any longer, it had only just begun,” said Matthews.
