ICYDK – Cell Phone Petition, Ridgefield Costco Opening, & McMinnville Airshow
2 days without cell phones, and the students are already saying, “noooo thank you.” Grant High School has adopted the little lockable pouches where students carry their phone with them, but can’t use it, and students have already started a petition to get rid of them, which has 1,000 signatures already. Who would have thought this would be unpopular?
As of 8:00 this morning, the new Costco in Ridgefield is open, and you can bet there’ll be traffic. Temporary traffic signals are being installed and there’s flaggers directing traffic, but they’re still expecting the snarls even extend onto I-5. WSDOT is saying we could be talking 90-minute delays on I-5, so factor that in if you plan to go to the Husky game this weekend.
And finally, don’t be alarmed if you see fighter jets over Yamhill Co. this weekend, as the Oregon International Air Show returns to McMinnville! Gates open at 9:00 and close at 5:00, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, and it features shows from the Air Force Thunderbirds, F-15s, stunt pilots and more. Danny & I will be there tomorrow… USA!
