ICYDK – Gorge Wildfire, Local Bachelorette Contestant, & PDX Re-Opens
Big problem in the Gorge about 20 miles past Multnomah Falls, a truck caught fire, and then the forest caught fire because of it. This is a situation; it’s hard to fight fire on a hill, especially in the high winds of the Gorge, so outbound I-84 is still closed while they figure it out. Check this though, the suggested detour has two toll bridges. Suspicious.
If you followed the first season of The Golden Bachelor, you know how short-lived that marriage was, but apparently we don’t care, because they’re plowing ahead with the Golden Bachelorette, AND there’s somebody local to root for. This is Bill Hernandez, he’s a retired videographer. 68, divorced, no luck with the local dating scene, so he’s going on TV, which’ll surely work.
And finally, after years of waiting, PDX opens its new terminal today, and there are already travelers trudging through it. The roof is what they’re bragging about, it’s a 9-acre wooden roof, made from local timber, there’s also 5,000 live plants, as well as the classic carpet is still represented. You’ll oooh & ahhh… until your flight is delayed, then back to complaining.
