ICYDK – Merger Blockage, Acrobat Accident, & Cheech & Chong

Will Fred Meyer & Safeway be able to merge?  That decision will be made here in Portland.  This plan has been in the works for a while now, but the government got involved, and is saying that this will make the new company too big, and blocked the merger.  The union for the workers is on the government’s side, and the hearing should take about 3 weeks.

A Cirque du Soleil performer fell and banged herself up this weekend at the Expo Center.  Kooza by Cirque du Soleil opened last Wednesday and during her aerial hoop act, lost her grip and fell to the stage.  Several fans were concerned about her and commented on the video that was posted, and she responded with “thank you, luckily, I’m OK.”

And finally, Cheech & Chong are coming to Oregon, not the guys, but their cannabis company.  They’ve chosen their distributor, which is DogFarms, a company that grows here, and their products will roll out in Oregon stores soon.  First and only question…  what took so long to get to Oregon?  You’ve only been talking about this stuff for 50 years, man.
