ICYDK – The Coolest Plane, Voting Rules, & Political Signs
The Coolest Thing Made in Oregon award has been doled out this year to the E1000 GX 6-seater from Epic Aircraft in Bend, where it is made entirely by 475 employees. The plane beat out those Digit robots from Agility Robotics, and Beaver Brand Mustard from Beaverton Foods, and even my clam chowder recipe, which a pretty amazing thing made in Oregon.
We’re here. It’s Election Day, and thanks to the fact that our voting system in Oregon & Washington is amazing, you still have plenty of time to fill out your ballot. Remember, it just has to be postmarked today, so as long as you get it into your own mailbox before the carrier gets there, you’re good. If you don’t, you gotta drop it in a ballot box before 8:00p tonight.
Now, mercifully, that will mean the end of political advertising as of tomorrow. You won’t see anymore, but you’ll still see the signs. The rules on the signs vary from city to city, and sometimes from neighborhood to neighborhood. For instance, in my city, you got 5 days to take them down. In Vancouver, it’s like 15, and it’s voluntary, so just think of them as red, white, & blue Christmas decorations.
