In Case You Didn’t Know – 05-17-2023

Last year was the first year a girl was drafted into the WHL, and just this week, the Portland Winterhawks doubled down on that strategy and drafted the first ever American-born girl.  15-year old Morgan Stickney (awesome name) is a goaltender from California, and her name will be emblazoned on a Portland Winterhawks jersey next season.

It was pretty smelly in downtown Portland and pretty hard to breathe after a 4-alarm fire broke out at an apartment building at 14th & Taylor, right next to 405.  Building was 113 years old, 60 apartments, and all are evacuated at this time, as those that weren’t burned are still in danger of collapsing.  Be on the lookout for how to help.\

And finally, UFO Fest this weekend in McMinnville.  It’s the time of year where UFOlogists, UFO enthusiasts, and even some people who think it’s all bunk descend on the adorable downtown streets of McMinnville for speakers, seminars, parties, collectibles, and the most fun part…  conspiracies!  It’s Tin Foil Hat time in Yamhill Co.!
