Jenn’s 4th of July weekend summed up in 3 pictures
I don’t know about you but this 4th of July weekend felt like a country song!
Well, every 4th of July does but this weekend for me was all about family, friends, drinks, trucks and my baby!
We started out the weekend on Saturday looking for new trucks from my husband, Spenser! He loves his Dodge Ram but here is the adult truth – kids car seats do not fit well in an extended cab… Can I get an amen? lol If you’ve got a double cab or extended cab and you’ve got multiple kiddos in car seats then you feel this! And as much as the truck is used for hauling, towing, fishing, hunting, etc. let’s be real – there’s a 9-5 and a routine that also has to work out and the Ram just wasn’t cutting it. SAD, I KNOW! So, Spenser’s new rig – A Chevy Silverado! How could ya go wrong with that! I LOVE my Chevy Suburban so this was a perfect choice. Plus… look at that blackout. It’s pretty sexy, huh?
Sunday/Monday we were kid free! First time since Emmy was born 9 1/2 months ago! We left her and Bridger with Bop Bop and Grammy and headed up to Portland to spend the night with some friends who were in town from Seattle. I’ll spare you ALL the details but we basically ate and drank all day long all over town. HA! Seriously though, if you’ve never done this, I highly recommend! We went and soaked at the Kennedy School McMenamins in NE Portland. Then headed to the Domaine Serene tasting room in downtown. The wine was AMAZING and the actual winery out in Dundee is to die for! We had dinner at Portland City Grill (always good) and then finished the night on the rooftop of the Hoxton Hotel in the taco bar called Tope. We were there at dark so we got to see all the fire works from the open air rooftop. What. A. Treat. Here’s just one of the rounds of drinks we partook in:
And all of this wouldn’t not have been fun without my best friend and husband, Spenser. We will be married 11 years in just a few weeks and hanging out with him doing anything is my favorite. We both love America, are thankful for our freedoms and we really celebrated that this weekend.
