Jobs With Huge Signing Bonuses Right Now

Wow.  Just wow.  The signing bonuses they are giving out for regular-a$$ careers right now are insane.  Like, equivalent to my annual salary when I started here at 98.7 The Bull.  I’ve never seen anything like this.  It’s like a bull market for employment!  Seriously, you should just go get a job!

Here’s a list of some signing bonuses I’ve heard about:

• Commercial Truck Driver: $30,000 – There is a shortage of 80,000 truck drivers right now, and that is making trucking companies desperate.  So desperate that they’ll give you money just to START working for them.
• Target: College Education – Even working at Target can get your college tuition, fees, & textbooks covered.  They’re also helping current employees with student debt in an effort to retain them.  Wal-Mart has a similar program.
• Nurses: $10,000-$100,000 – That’s a huge range, but there’s a huge range of specialties for nurses.  The long and short is…  nurses just coming out of school are going to be able to demand top dollar for their services.
• Cops: $25,000 – Even right here in Oregon, where budgets have suddenly grown, but police forces have shrank, you can get PAID to be a cop right now.  No longer are you expected to serve your community out of devotion and good-heartedness.  Now you also can get some money.  The job is tough, to be sure, but at least you’ll be compensated.

Obviously, a lot of these jobs require some schooling, so it’s not as if the phrase, “if you don’t have a job, you just don’t want one” really applies here…  but there ARE jobs to be had.  Good ones even, if you’re willing to put in the prep to get them.
