Kacey Musgraves Finally Tries a “Shoey”
If the shoey fits, drink it! People reports that at her show in Sydney on Sunday night, Kacey Musgraves refused audience demands that she do a “shoey”–a local custom that involves taking a drink out of someone else’s footwear. “No way,” Musgraves reportedly responded when one fan offered up a cowboy boot for her drinking vessel. “That’s disgusting. I’m not f**king drinking out of your shoe. You could have athlete’s foot or something.” (A recent study indeed found that a “shoey” can give you a staph infection.) However, video posted Tuesday to Twitter shows that at her performance in Melbourne, Musgraves finally obliged. “So we’ll do one for you,” she told the crowd while holding up what looked like a glass slipper. “So basically, you’re welcome.”
