Kelsea Ballerini Announces Social Media “Break” After Posting Joke Video About Coronavirus

Kelsea Ballerini “Unapologetically” made fun of catching the coronavirus this week, and now she’s dealing with the fallout by taking a break from social media. “Dear everyone taking offense to everything I post, I never have ill intent,” the 26-year-old country singer tweeted Tuesday. “I try to be witty, lighthearted and relatable on here. Y’all have dragged me this last week and I need a break from being canceled.” The day before, she’d shared a video that shows her standing in a walk-in closet wearing swim goggles, gloves and a bandana over her nose before putting a plastic bag over her head and stepping inside a giant, plastic garment bag.
She wrote in the caption, “Twenty flights in the next few weeks for album release. This is me now.” She also added the hashtags “#DontTouchMe,” “#CoroNOvirus” and “#YesThatsAGarmentBag.” As one follower replied, “Kelsea, people are literally dying. This is not a Twitter moment.” Meanwhile, her next album Kelsea arrives on March 20.
