It’s that time of year, Colder weather is here and the leaves are falling and clogging the street drains. PBOT Kicks off “Portland’s leaf pickup” today. PBOT says 52 districts will receive leaf pickup service between November 5 and December 18.

Officials say the leaf service is to prevent flooding and other road hazards.

PBOT says it is important for everyone who lives or works in a leaf district to know how to prepare for Leaf Day:

  1. Know your Leaf Day: Check the Leaf Day website where you can verify which Leaf District you are in, and confirm your service dates.

2. One day before, get ready: Rake your leaves into the street one day before your scheduled Leaf Day pickup. Move your vehicle off the street, or out of the district.

3. Don’t get towed: If you park a car on the street in Northwest Portland, Goose Hollow or Sullivan’s Gulch, your car may be towed on Leaf Day to clear the way for a clean sweep.
