Missing Mushroom Picker Found Alive On Her 75th Birthday

Skamania County, Wash. -A mushroom picker from Vancouver who got lost over the weekend is found alive on her 75th birthday. After three long nights Jung VanAtta was spotted by rescue crews in the Woodard Creek drainage area Tuesday afternoon. Rescuers tell News Partner KGW VanAtta was doing well for as long as she was out there. She has a cut on her head and some bruised ribs. Crews say that area where she was is so thick with trees, that if she didn’t make noise when they were nearby, they may have never found her.
