Oregon Straw Bill Halfway To Becoming A Law

You may soon only be able to get a straw by asking for it.

Single-use straws are already forbidden to be distributed in the bigger West Coast cities, like Portland, Seattle, & San Francisco.  But that’s just the big cities, and only in city limits.  You cross into Beaverton?  Straws and plastic bags everywhere.

However, it’s headed for a change.  The Oregon Senate voted 23-6 to make straw distribution involuntary, statewide.  Meaning that if you want a straw anywhere but a drive-thru, you’re gonna have to ask for it.

How do you feel about that?  I’m guessing you’re annoyed by that?  Why?
