Photo of Egg Now Most-Liked Instagram Pic…Ever
A picture of an egg has racked up more than 24 million likes as of Sunday night, making it the most liked Instagram post of all time. The egg dethroned Kylie Jenner’s post announcing her daughter Stormi’s name, which garnered about 18 million likes. The account @world_record_egg first published the egg photo on January 4.
BuzzFeed reached out to the mystery account and received a response from “Henrietta,” a chicken from the British countryside. Henrietta claims she was reading an article about the top 20 posts on Instagram and decided she wanted to take the #1 spot. “It was nothing personal,” she tells BuzzFeed in an email.
She also wants vegans to know that the egg will not be eaten. Meanwhile, Jenner responded to her daughter’s picture being beaten by sharing a video of her cracking open an egg on a hot road and letting it bubble.
