Portland Porlice Searching For Suspect Who Set Firehouse Aflame

Portland, Ore. – On the morning of August 31, 2024, an unidentified individual attempted to set fire to Fire Station 19 at 7301 E Burnside Street, which serves the Montavilla, Mt. Tabor, North Tabor, and South Tabor neighborhoods.
The incident occurred as firefighters were being dispatched on an emergency call. The suspect was seen near the station, moving between shrubs as the crew was leaving. Upon returning, the firefighters noticed smoke and discovered a fire outside the dormitory windows. The fire, set between shrubs and the building’s exterior wall, caused soot stains on the bricks.
