The National Film Registry announced Wednesday that it has selected 25 movies to be added to its ranks for special preservation. Those movies include Purple Rain, Amadeus, Boys Don’t Cry, Kevin Smith’s Clerks, Oliver Stone’s Platoon, and Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It.
With the new flicks, the National Film Registry now includes a whopping 775 films. The annual lists are chosen by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant.
