Rains Bring Floods to Parts of Western Washington

SEATTLE (AP) – Flooded rivers are causing problems across parts of Western Washington, and waters are still rising as heavy rain struck the region overnight.

KOMO reports there was enough rain to drive the Snoqualmie River above its major flood stage. At the first alert, the Snoqualmie River at Snoqualmie was at stage 4 flooding around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. It was then upgraded to major severity at 4:30 a.m.

The Tolt and Skykomish Rivers will reach moderate flood stage, and the Snohomish River is forecast to rise above flood stage Tuesday afternoon.

In the town of Carnation, the water was making driving dangerous.
