Secret Santa Pays Off $70,000 in Layaway Fees at Alabama Walmart Locations

On Friday, Walmart announced that a secret Santa had paid off $70,000 in layaway fees at two Walmart stores in Alabama–one in Anniston and another in Oxford. WBMA-TV reports that customers who arrived to pick up their layaway items received a note reading, “God loves you. Jesus paid the price,” and were informed that their balances had been zeroed out.

Hannah Haynes was one of the beneficiaries of the secret Santa’s generosity. She responded by saying, “Every day I’m gonna wake up like, how can I bless someone? How can I show someone that type of love?”
