Tigard, Ore. — A retail theft operation conducted in Tigard on Friday, September 6, resulted in 21 arrests and the recovery of stolen merchandise, a replica firearm, and methamphetamine, according to the Tigard Police Department.

The operation was the first held in Washington County since the Washington County District Attorney’s Office received a $1.5 million federal grant aimed at combating retail theft. The grant allows for joint operations between law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to target retail crime more effectively. During these missions, officers and loss prevention teams work together in real-time to identify and address criminal activity inside stores.
