The #kickdoor challenge is running around TikTok right now, and police believe it was the inspiration for several incidents in East Vancouver on Wednesday night.

Reports of seven different doors being kicked in came to Vancouver PD, mostly from the Hearthwood neighborhood.  Surveillance footage shows a car driving away at high speeds from one of the incidents, and the suspects are reportedly teens.

In the #kickdoor challenge, viewers are encouraged to film themselves leaning backwards against a residential door, and then kicking it backwards with their heels.  It’s a high-speed, high-impact attack, and generally, doorframes are unable to withstand the force, and fling open.  The challenge doesn’t mandate any theft…  only destruction.
