Portland, Ore. – Two people were shot overnight in Southeast Portland. It happened just before midnight on 122nd and Salmon, south of Stark. The two victims were taken to the hospital. No word on their condition yet this morning. Police have detained one person and say there is no threat to the public. It may possibly be gang related.

On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11:43 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the area of Southeast 122 Avenue and Southeast Salmon Street on reports that someone was shot. When officers arrived they found two victims. They were both transported to hospitals by ambulance with unknown injuries.

At least one person has been detained during this investigation. Given the circumstances of the incident, there does not appear to be a threat to the community.

Officers have secured the crime scene and an investigation has been started by GVRT. Traffic is effected in the area.
