The U.S. Women’s soccer team opened up the World Cup on Tuesday with a record-setting, 13-0 blowout win over Thailand.

Alex Morgan scored five goals for the defending champions, tying a World Cup record. “Every goal matters in this tournament and that’s what we were working on this game,” Morgan told reporters after the match. The overmatched Thai team were outshot 39-2 by the pre-tournament favorites, with the U.S. scoring an astonishing 10 goals in the second half. With the victory, the U.S. improved to 6-0-2 in World Cup openers.

They’ll next face Chile and then Sweden before the knockout rounds begin.
