Vida Senior Center in Washington, D.C. is posting online dance classes to their website and social media sites so that their clients can stay engaged.  The Associated Press reports that since mid-March, the center has filmed the exercise classes with Instructor Lola Jaramillo; most are taught in Spanish. “There is no physical connection now, but there is an emotional connection and we’re trying to do this in different ways,” says Blanche Cotlear, the center’s executive director.

The center also records relaxation classes, nutrition tips and COVID-19 information. Realizing that many of the clients may feel scared or isolated amid the coronavirus outbreak, “we are the second home for many, many Hispanic seniors,” said Cotlear, pointing out that’s especially the case for those who don’t have family nearby.
