Whoaaaaaaaa… It’s Been A Minute Since We Had This Kind Of Song

Have you seen the new video from HARDY & Lainey Wilson?  Hooo boy, take a minute and watch this thing.

Arguably, the biggest song of this style in country music was probably Goodbye, Earl from the Chicks, wouldn’t you say?  As far as “murder ballads” go, there’s really not a lot of them.  Which makes sense…  celebrating killers is not necessarily the best move.  But sometimes…  when somebody gots to go, somebody gots to do it.

What other songs like this have there been?  The Night The Light Went Out In Georgia comes to mind.  Gunpowder & Lead from Miranda Lambert is another one.  Carrie Underwood has had a few that kind of toe that line.  But it’s been a handful of years since any of those have really made the impact that this song is making.
