Yes we love a good glass of our favorite Root Beer, Soda, and even Lemonade and We’ve been told for years from health experts to curb our addiction to sugary beverages because they’re not exactly healthy. But now a new study is showing just how bad they are for the body.

While you may think you’re safe since you don’t knock back a two-liter bottle per day, that isn’t the case. Published in the journal BMJ on Wednesday, the findings show only 100-ml, one-third of a can of soda, ups your risk of cancer overall 18 percent.

Juice drinkers aren’t spared either. The researchers also reveal, “Surprisingly perhaps, the increased risk of cancer in heavier consumers of sugary drinks was observed even among consumers of pure fruit juice.”  Mathilde Touvier, the lead author of the study, recommends a maximum of one glass per day of sugary drinks. So keep  the bottle of water handy, you can do what I do for every soda I dorknoI drink two bottles of water
