You Should Never Check Your Lotto Tickets

Why?  Because you didn’t win.  But if you don’t know that you didn’t win, then you get to keep the fantasy going.

Let’s break it down.  Buying a lotto ticket is fun, because you’re really buying a fantasy.  “What would I do if I won?”  That’s two dollars well-spent in my book.  When I’ve got an active lotto ticket, I spend those nights fantasizing about all the things I’d do with the money.  I love it.

But what happens when you check your ticket?  The fantasy evaporates.  You find out that you didn’t win, and your dream is over.

Me?  I never check them.  Ever.  Even when I find out that there’s a $1,000,000 ticket that was unclaimed and sold in my town (there is), I still don’t check it.

Y’know why?  Because I didn’t win.  And neither did you.  But I still want the fantasy.

Never check your tickets.  Ignorance is rich bliss.
