Come next Fall, your Oregon Driver’s License won’t get you through security.
Almost 15 years ago, Congress passed the Real ID Act, which tightens the restrictions on what level of security must be present in order to fly on federally-regulated flights. Oregon’s current ID does not meet these restrictions, and we have been dragging our feet on implementing it. If you get a new license after July of 2020, you’ll be all good, but many of us won’t do that. Which means you’ll be needing your passport to fly.
Giant hassle, right? Yup.
KATU has a great article on it here.
