I have so many friends that deal with Sleep Apnea, I’m fortunate I have not had to mess with a CPAP machine and If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnoea, like nearly one billion people around the globe, it might be because your tongue is fat.  SAY WHAT

Researchers at Penn Medicine found that reducing the fat in your tongue provided some relief from symptoms such as snoring, choking, and gasping while asleep, publishing their results Friday in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. “In fact, the more tongue fat you lose, the more your apnea is improved,” said the study’s lead author, Dr. Richard Schwab.

But since we can’t put our tongues on a diet, you’ll have to lose weight overall to reduce its fat content, so stick with that New Years Resolution and keep fight and eating healthy You got this

Here are a few simple steps to help beat sleep apnea

  • Try to lose weight if you are overweight
  • Sleep on your side – try a special pillow to help
  • Give up smoking
  • Do not drink too much alcohol, especially before bed
  • Don’t take sleeping pills unless recommended
