Move over, global pandemic! Here’s some real earth-shattering news: Blake Shelton is actually going to perform on the Grand Ole Opry’s Saturday showcase this weekend! There’s just one catch: Shelton won’t actually be onstage, and nobody will be around to see it. MusicRow reports that Shelton and girlfriend Gwen Stefani will sing their hit duet “Nobody But You” remotely from Shelton’s Oklahoma compound, while back in Nashville, fellow Opry members Trace Adkins and Dustin Lynch will perform together on the Opry stage (while maintaining social distancing).

The Opry’s Saturday shows have been held without a live audience since the coronavirus crisis began. Fans can catch the broadcast on radio or the Circle Network, as well as Circle’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Shelton has been dinged in the past for not fulfilling his Opry membership obligations; he reportedly didn’t perform there once in 2019, despite members being asked to make at least five Opry appearances a year.
