Boy Who Donated Disney Money To Hurricane Evacuees Surprised With Trip
There have been a lot of stories surrounding Hurricane Dorian that give us all a renewed hope for humanity, and this one might be one of my favorites. Good things happen for good people and Jermaine Bell is certainly a good person.
He spent the last year saving his birthday money so he could one day take to trip to Disney World. But when Hurricane Dorian smashed up South Carolina, the selfless boy sacrificed his piggy bank. Bell purchased bags of chips, hot dogs, and bottled water, dishing the food out for free to more than 100 evacuees in his grandmother’s town near the Atlantic coast. “The people that are traveling to go to other places, I wanted them to have some food to eat, so they can enjoy the ride to the place that they’re going to stay at,” Bell told reporters.
On Sunday, Bell turned seven and was treated to a huge surprise. Mickey Mouse and several cast members from The Most Magical Place On Earth dropped by to blow out the candles and hand over a VIP getaway for his family.
Good on ya, Disney for rewarding Jermaine’s selfless act.
