Dixie Chicks Score Highest Chart Debut in Nearly 20 Years With “Gaslighter”
The Dixie Chicks are lighting up the charts with their new comeback single, “Gaslighter.” The song which serves as the title track for their upcoming album–debuted at #36 on Billboard‘s latest Country Airplay chart. That marks the trio’s highest debut on that chart since their 2002 cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide,” which debuted at #32. “Gaslighter” is also the first Dixie Chicks song to hit the Top 40 since frontwoman Natalie Maines’ controversial comments about President George W. Bush in 2003.
Gaslighter, the band’s eighth studio album, arrives on May 1.
