Gresham Man Sent To Alaska To Face Murder Charges

PORTLAND, Ore…  62 year old Donald McQuade is waking up in Alaska today in jail.  He was extradited there  on murder charges going back to 1978.  McQuade was arrested several months ago on DNA evidence.  His family cannot believe he would be capable of such a thing.  Shelly Connelly was 17 when she was murdered.  Her body was found at the base of a steep embankment South of Anchorage.  Donald McQuade has stage 4 liver cancer.  He’s been treated at OHSU.  His treatment in Alaska is in question.  The family indicates he will be starting the paperwork for treatment all over again. Brother Richard McQuade says, ” The Defense will try to get the charges dropped as quickly as possible .  I don’t think there’s enough evidence to convict Don.”
