I Wish I Liked Wine
News has just broken this week that 3 Pacific Northwest wineries have been named to the Top 15 wineries in the country by The Daily Meal. Which is no particular surprise… I hear nothing but good things about the wine scene here in the area. Essentially every one of my long-term friends makes a weekend out of hitting up the wineries, and some of them definitely know what they’re talking about.
The thing is… I don’t like the stuff.
And I wish I did! There are so many great things about living here that I’m just not that into. I don’t really care for craft beers, I don’t smoke weed, I violently hate coffee, and the thing I regret the most is… I don’t like the taste of wine. There are so many cool ways to spend a chill afternoon as an adult… hanging around a fire with friends, going on wine tours, or even just a nice dinner party with some nice pairings. But I don’t like the taste of it. Red or white… it doesn’t do anything for me. I think I could grow to like beer, I think I could get used to coffee… but I just have no taste for wine. I’ve never had one that I enjoyed even a little bit. I’ve had to choke down a glass or two for special occasions, and I’m always doing just that… choking it down.
Any tips for me? I’d like to find a way in…
