ICYDK – An Icon Passing, Doggie Dash, & Our Favorite Candies

We lost an icon over the weekend; Bob Moore, who was the founder of Bob’s Red Mill passed away at 94 on Saturday.  Started his healthy food company in 1978, and it’s now a global brand in 70 countries, and also, now owned by the employees.  Plus, he was a sweet guy.  Have some oatmeal in honor of him today.

With the Super Bowl yesterday was also the Puppy Bowl, and in honor of that, registrations for the Oregon Humane Society Doggie Dash began.  Thousands of dogs and their peoples will be at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown for the biggest fundraiser of OHS’s year…  register now and of course…  watch your step that day.

And finally, Oregon, do better.  This is disappointing.  They’ve ranked the favorite candies of all 50 states, and y’know what Oregon’s favorite candy is?  Hershey Kisses.  Snorrrrre.  Idaho had the same, and Washington & California weren’t much better; they had conversation hearts.  The PNW really went hyper boring on this one; I’m disappointed.
