Cannon Beach racks up another award as it has been named the second best beach to visit in America.  Surprisingly though, it has come in behind Venice Beach in California, which was a dump when I was there, but it did beat out all the Florida beaches and the Carolina beaches, which usually are ranked pretty good.  Cannon Beach, man.  It’s famous!

Forbes has released their billionaire list, and did you know there are only three Oregonians on there?  Phil Knight from Nike, of course, Columbia Sportswear’s CEO, Tim Boyle, and Dutch Bros.’s CEO, Travis Boersma.  Only 3.  Or 4 if you count the Powerball winner, but you shouldn’t, because you know a $1.3B jackpot doesn’t really mean that.

And finally, Beaverton is no stranger to producing Olympic fencers; you’ll remember Mariel Zagunis won the gold in Beijing, and that same school, the Oregon Fencing Alliance is sending another.  Her name is Magda Skarbonkievicz, she’s 18, and she is the youngest member of the US Saber Fencing team going to Paris later this year.  Beaverton chicks will stab you.
