ICYDK – The Return Of NASCAR, Striking Healthcare Workers, & A New Shake Shack

Boogity Boogity Boogity, let’s go racing!  NASCAR is coming back to Portland for the third year in a row.  The Pacific Office Automation 147 will be happening the last weekend in May6 at PIR.  At last year’s race, tons of people showed up, and if that happens again, maybe we can rely on it.

The middle class is trying to stay the middle class right now.  Hard.  Yesterday, the biggest medical-industry strike in American history began for the workers of Kaiser Permanente.  Thousands of workers here locally are picketing, let’s hope they get what they want.

And finally, Shake Shack Number 3 is opening up.  One already in Cedar Hills, one in downtown, and a new one at Bridgeport Village.  Bringing in these non-Oregon burger chains is awesome… because it just highlights that we already have Burgerville.  But, enjoy your perfectly adequate burger though.
