ICYDK – Worst Weather Ride, Beavs Win, & Roller Skating School

Portland’s Worst Day Of The Year Ride was both on point and on brand yesterday, curving through North Portland and the east side.  It’s a benefit for helping people get bikes who can’t afford it, and was originally held on the traditionally worst weather day of the year, February 8th, but it moves around, because we just have so many to choose from.

Was a good day for Oregon State yesterday though, as the Lady Beavers took down Nebraska to be the last team from Oregon still in the dance.  They play on Friday in New York, despite the fact that half of this tournament comes to the Moda Center this week, and they will play the winner of the Notre Dame/Ole Miss game today.  Go Beavs!

And finally, when you think of skating at Lloyd Center, you think ice skating, but the Skate Oregon School has opened up in the mall, teaching people how to roller skate.  Standard skate lessons, or dance lessons, or even roller skate fitness classes.  This is remarkably Portland, isn’t it?  I bet they listen to vinyl as they skate too.  I love it.
