Monday is Juneteenth, and there will be a celebration like you’ve never seen before at the Expo Center.  The 8 Seconds Juneteenth Rodeo will take place, celebrating the history of black rodeo and featuring some of today’s bravest black competitors.  Two shows on Saturday at 3:00 & 7:00p, tickets are still available.

Also happening Monday, the nurses of Providence Portland will begin their strike to protest illegal and unfair labor practices.  Hospital administrators says they’ll be able to handle the healthcare needs of the community, but if you have a choice, seek healthcare elsewhere just in case.  Again, that starts Monday.

And finally, I do hate reporting this, but it did happen.  About 30K gallons of partially-treated sewage spilled into the Willamette yesterday around Lake Oswego.  It was an equipment malfunction, and it’ll probably make the waters a little unsafe for a couple days.  Fine after that though.  The Willamette is clean.
