Mia Brahe-Pederson of Lake Oswego is the fastest women’s sprinter this state has ever seen. The Nike Outdoor Nationals were held over the weekend, and Brahe Pederson broke the state record for the 100M Dash with a time of 11.11, and then won the 200m Dash with a time of 22.43, which is the second best High-school time in history. She fast.
The strike has begun today at Providence Portland Medical Center just off of I-84; 1800 nurses have walked out starting today. Traveling nurses have been brought in to keep up the needs of patients, but there won’t be enough; even the hospital says it’s probably better to go somewhere else. The strike is planned for 5 days; we’ll see what happens.
And finally, kinda exciting weather in Camas yesterday… a tornado was seen over the Columbia! Now, technically, that’s called a waterspout, but when it jumps on land, it becomes a tornado. Usually, when one forms, others are possible, and one did happen in Linn Co., but neither did any damage. Still cool to see though.
