If you’ve ever tried to get a camping reservation in Oregon, you know it takes months of planning and a lot of luck, but they’re trying to change that along the Oregon Coast. Same-Day Reservations are gonna be available, so you can jaunt to the ocean on a whim, instead of 8 months notice.
The government is coming to town tomorrow, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is gonna be in town around 11:00, first in Washougal to take a tour of pending projects, and then down 82nd Ave. in a TriMet bus. I don’t know if he’s been here before; I’m not sure that’s our best foot forward.
And finally, that trip to Washougal might be a bit hazy, as the Tunnel 5 fire across from Hood River is causing some havok. 400ish firefighters are on the scene with more on the way, including HotShot crews, tankers, and helitack crews are all working on it, and yet, it’s nowhere close to contained.
