This is one of those issues where I’m perfectly swayed by both points of view.  Is tolling a reasonable way to pay for improvements to a road or a bridge?

Let’s talk about it.

A logical argument might be that the people who use the bridge should pay for the bridge.   That’s perfectly reasonable, right?  When Dan + Shay come to the Moda Center, we probably shouldn’t pass that cost around; it should be the people who buy tickets who pay for that to happen, right?

But how far does that go?  Should only people with kids in school pay for schools?  Or can the argument be made that a strong educational system benefits everybody?

Are those the two arguments?  Or is that apples and oranges?

I’m not convinced I know what the right answer is.  I often am pretty opinionated about things, but I’m on the fence with this one.

Convince me!
